Tips For A Great Camping Trip

Camping RV Guide
Camping is fun but if you want to combine nature with convenience, the you might consider a camping RV. These recreational vehicles come in many sizes and prices ranges - you can buy one that will make you feel like you are staying a luxury hotel or get one that is little more than a tent with wheels and electricity. NO matter which you prefer, a RV is sure to add another element to your camping experience.

Back 60 years ago, a RV was not more than an egg shaped shell or even a van, but today you can buy them that have several rooms. RV’s or recreational vehicles come in 3 classes, Class A, Class B and Class C. The class denotes the size of the vehicle.

A Class A camping RV is the largest size. It is like a huge bus and often has areas that extend out making it even larger when parked. These are often called motor homes because they provide all the comforts of home - a bedroom, living room, full kitchen and bathroom complete with shower. Many of them are nicer inside that a hotel room or even some homes!

A Class A RV is plenty big enough to drive cross country in and you could really even live in it if you had to. There is ample room for 4 adults and usually sleeping room for even more. Most of them have satellites that give you wireless internet and cable TV so you won’t miss your modern conveniences while you are exploring nature. Of course, most have a generator as well as ample water and waste storage.

A Class B RV is really just a van that has been outfitted with a cooking area and sleeping area. They aren’t as luxurious as the Class A but are a step up from a tent. They are better on gas mileage and easier to drive than the larger class A RV, in fact they are not much more than a van so easy to get around in but the don’t have all the extras you will find in a Class An or Class C recreational vehicle.

The Class C RV is in between the An and B in size and could be compared to a delivery van or an armored car. They are great for camping trips but might be a little cramped for an extended vacation or if you plan to live in your RV. They usually have a bathroom, a bedroom and a cooking area. Some have extra fold out areas. You can usually sleep 6 in them, but they are really more convenient for two, however if you are camping and plan to spend most of your time outdoors, that doesn’t really matter.

Buying a camping RV can be a fun way to always be able to bring “home” with you on your vacation. You want to choose yours carefully though as they can be expensive and some of the Class A motor homes might cost more than your own house! However if you do a lot of traveling, the expense can pay for itself in motel fees you might have paid if you didn’t have a RV to sleep in.
